Auto-Renewing subscriptions with 2.2.1

FAQ

What are Auto renewing subscriptions?

Auto renewing subscriptions are time based subscriptions which are initially purchased within the application. These will allow the user to receive standard published issues within their subscription period. These subscriptions are time based and NOT credit based like our original subscriptions.

What will 2.2.1 support?

2.2.1 will support both auto-renewing and “Classic credit based” subscriptions, this includes purchasing and subscription functionality. However, only one subscription type can be displayed to the user in their application. Auto renewing subscriptions take priority over credit based, if you publish an auto renewing subscription to an application that already provides credit based subscriptions, then the original credit based subscriptions will be hidden.

A magazine can offer up to three auto-renewing subscriptions or up to three "classic" subscriptions. These will be listed from shortest to longest duration.

What happens to users with the old credit based subscriptions?

The old subscription type will now be known as “Classic” subscriptions. Users who are upgrading to the new 2.2.1 application will continue receiving their credit based subscriptions as per normal.
